The first lecture of the Dalhousie Global Mental Health Guest Lecture Series featuring Dr. Shekhar Saxena, Professor, Practice of Global Mental Health, Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health; and, Former Director, Mental Health and Substance Abuse, World Health Organization.

Learning objectives:

  • To understand the two-way relation between global mental health and sustainable development.
  • To become aware of recent advances in global mental health that have implications for sustainable development with specific reference to low resource settings.
  • To develop insight into the priorities for policy, advocacy and research in global mental health as an integral component of sustainable development.
