Flu prevention

This year it will be even easier for you to get protection against the flu as seasonal vaccine is free for all Nova Scotians throughout 2011-12.

Every year in Canada, over 2,500 people are admitted to hospital and over 400 deaths occur as a result of flu complications. Immunization is the most effective way to protect yourself, your family, and your community from the flu.

This year's flu vaccine will protect against three strains of seasonal flu, including H1N1.

Doctors encourage you to take advantage of this year’s immunization program and get vaccinated.

Flu shots free for all

In 2011-12, the seasonal flu vaccine is free for all Nova Scotians.
