Doctors Nova Scotia’s role

Doctors Nova Scotia is a partner of Choosing Wisely Canada. Choosing Wisely Canada is organized by a team of leading Canadian physicians in partnership with the Canadian Medical Association.

Doctors Nova Scotia has taken a collaborative approach to implementing Choosing Wisely in Nova Scotia. Together with the other Atlantic provinces, the association focuses on educating the public on Choosing Wisely, educating physician members on how to implement Choosing Wisely in their practices and working with the Dalhousie Medical School to integrate the evidence-based recommendations of Choosing Wisely into the medical school curriculum.

Choosing Wisely Canada is modelled after the Choosing Wisely campaign in the United States, launched by the American Board of Internal Medicine’s ABIM Foundation.
