Nancy MacCready-Williams is a seasoned executive with proven success in leading change. She champions an engaging, high-performing, values-based workplace environment that delivers powerful results. She strives to reach innovative and entrepreneurial solutions to complex issues.

Ms. MacCready-Williams obtained her Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 1989. She also holds a Master’s of Industrial Relations and a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Joining Doctors Nova Scotia in 2011, Ms. MacCready-Williams previously held the position of CEO with the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia. She worked at WCB for 18 years, seven as CEO. There, her many accomplishments included leading the organization through a fundamental shift in strategic direction, and to six straight years of reduction of workplace injury’s human and economic toll in the province. 

Ms. MacCready-Williams holds the distinction of being admitted to Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEO Business Hall of Fame, having been named one of Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEOs for five consecutive years. She is also the recipient of the Progress Club Women of Excellence Award (Management and the Professions).

Staying active in her community, Ms. MacCready-Williams is a board member of the QEII Foundation and a member of Dalhousie University's Board of Governors.
 She lives in St. Margaret’s Bay with her husband Alan, and their three children, Tristan, Sophie and Evan.
