The Audit and Finance Committee is responsible for overall financial management of the CMA, including
financial risk management, annual budget overview and the internal audit
function. The committee is responsible for overseeing the integrity and
credibility of the CMA's audited financial statements. The committee
is also responsible for liaison with the CMA's external auditor
and overseeing the audit (15.1.3 in the CMA Bylaws). For more information on the role of the committee, see the terms of reference.
- Integrity, common sense and good judgment
- Understanding of CMA, its vision and mission statements and business

- Understanding of accounting, financial, planning and strategic concepts
- Keep up to date with issues and trends that affect the organization and the profession
- Participate in meetings
The committee will normally meet quarterly in advance of CMA Board meetings (face-face or by teleconference).
Term of current representative
The term length is 3-years, renewable once. The term will begin in August, 2017.

If interested in serving on the CMA Audit and Finance Committee (member-at-large), please submit a one-page bio to doctorsns.com. CMA will compile the candidate bios received and distribute them electronically to General Council delegates.
Please note that the member-at-large on the Audit and Finance Committee is elected from the floor at General Council in August. In the case that there is more than one candidate interested in the seat, each candidate will be asked to address the delegation for two minutes. If they will not be in attendance, they can appoint someone to speak on their behalf. Note: Interested candidates can also put their name forward from the floor at General Council.
